Paeng receives his own star in Walk of Fame-Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino Bowling Legend Paeng Nepomuceno receives his own star on the “Walk of Fame Philippines,” the country’s version of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, in Quezon City yesterday.

The “Walk of Fame Philippines” was initiated by Walk of Fame Founder,  Mr. German Moreno,  in December 2005 to pay tribute to both living and departed actors and actresses and other celebrities who have given exemplary contributions to Philippine show business.

“.I am thankful that a sports personality is recognized alongside famous celebrities and I would like to dedicate this occasion to my father-coach, Pappy Nepomuceno, who passed away a year ago. I would also like to share this award with my mother, Baby, my wife Pinky and with my children” said Paeng during the colorful ceremonies.

Paeng is only the second athlete to be included in the Philippines Walk of Fame. 8-Time World Boxing Champion Manny Pacquiao was immortalized with his own star last year.

The names and stars of previous inductees comprised of the best actors, actresses, singers, musicians, composers, and media personalities is on permanent display in Eastwood City.

"There is a need to immortalize the people responsible for moulding the local entertainment industry and that is going to happen on the Walk of Fame," stated Mike Marquez, managing director and co-founder of the Walk of Fame-Philippines.
